When I first met Ashley and Sean, I knew we would make a perfect team. Ashley with all of her excitement, Sean with his laid back demeanor, and my experienced photographic vision. Upon getting to know the couple over the next few months, I learned Ashley was a DIY (Do It Yourself) bride. She mentioned to me how she was a huge fan of Pinterest and a number of wedding details would be her creations. I made note of this, and informed my team to keep this in mind during the wedding day.
Ashley and Sean’s wedding took place at First Mallalieu United Methodist Church in East Point, Georgia. Prior to the future Mr. and Mrs. arriving, we photographed all the details the couple would not notice during the actual event. Within a matter of minutes the soon to be bride arrived with her bridesmaids and flower girls. Once dressed, I photographed each individual bridesmaid, the flower girls and additional details worn by Ashley (i.e., dress, shoes, bouquet). After the photographs of Sean and the groomsmen, it was time to take our place for the wedding.
There was plenty of emotion from guests as Ashley walked down the aisle with the choir singing in the background. Ashley’s mother gave her a heartwarming kiss on the cheek as she made her way to the alter. Ashley and Sean could not help but smile at one another during the ceremony as their day had come. We photographed a number of candid photos of the guest and couple so that fond memories of the wedding day could be remembered.
Once the formal photographs were complete, we drove to the Atlanta Airport Marriott for the beginning of the reception. Prior to the guest coming entering the reception area, we were able to capture detail shots. This included the smaller details that Ashley created herself. As the guest entered the reception space and were seated, there was a huge surprise planned by Ashley: a drum squad. Sean was a drummer in his college years and the look on his face when he heard the sound of the drum squad in coming in from the hallway was priceless.
After dinner is served and the dancing begins, I will always ask the newlyweds if they would like to take some additional photos outside. Ashley and Sean obliged and we walked right outside the venue for some night time photos. The wedding day is very long for couples, but in the end I know the images we take will last beyond a lifetime.
Congratulations Ashley and Sean on your wedding and thank you for choosing Cain’s Camera. You two were a wonderful couple to work with and we wish you the best!
How They Met
We were introduced by an old mutual friend. Over the years our relationship continued to blossom. We have been together three years and five months with nothing but pure happiness. On April, 20th 2014, Sean proposed to me in front of twenty of my family members at Easter dinner. I was shocked because he was suppose to be at work. Needless to say, we are each others soul mate and best friend. I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with him!

In the midtown Atlanta neighborhood Atlantic Station rests the “classically-styled monumental arch” called the Millennium Gate. This is a great location to shoot an engagement session no matter the time of year. Next to the Millennium Gate is a picturesque bridge that serves as a wonderful backdrop for engagement photos as well. Couples are captured on the bridge with the Atlanta city skyline in the background. The results are images that are classic and timeless. Couples are always pleased with the look and style of these Atlantic Station locations. Kim and Jimmy joined me at the arch and bridge to celebrate their upcoming wedding with engagement photos.
Kim and Jimmy had great chemistry in front of the camera, and this shines through in their engagement photos. Kim’s candid demeanor and spontaneous smiles were complimented by Jimmy’s humor which kept her laughing. When couples are comfortable and natural in front of the camera, I am really able to get the best pictures. This couple made it easy. They came prepared with wardrobe changes which provided different looks for the session, and highlighted their fun personalities together. They just spent the day interacting with one another and enjoying each other’s company, while having their pictures taken. An awesome location, plus an awesome couple equals a photographer’s dream.
We at Cains’ Camera look forward to photographing the wedding of Kim & Jimmy on June 25th at the Douglasville Conference Center in Douglasville, Georgia. We send special thanks to Crystal Pink Events for introducing us to this wonderful couple. Congratulations to Kim and Jimmy!
The Wedding at 200 Peachtree:
Sylvia and I headed to downtown Atlanta to photograph the wedding of Krystal and Jamini. The wedding was located at 200 Peachtree and we arrived early to capture the fine details set up by Jade Lee Events. We captured outside shots of the venue, the ceremony space, and floral arrangements. After our detail shots, we sought out the bride and groom as they both prepped for their big day. Prior to the ceremony, we photographed candid family moments. This included the groom with his parents, and the mother of the bride seeing her daughter for the very first time dressed for the day.
One of our goals for the wedding day was to get candid photos that expressed emotion. The best time to achieve this goal is during the wedding ceremony–from the bride making her grand entrance, to the couple’s wedding vows, these candid images were full of emotion.
Something that I love about downtown Atlanta are the buildings. We took advantage of the beautiful backdrop directly after the formal family photos. Sylvia and I had a small amount of time before the couple had to head back for their reception introductions, so time management was key. We led the couple outside and took a photo with the Westin Hotel in the background. We also shot pictures in front of doorways to historic buildings, and scenic water fountains. We finished our portraits and headed back to the venue for the newlyweds to be introduced to family and friends at their dinner reception.
The wedding reception was a blast! Everyone was on the dance floor throughout the entire night, mainly because of the music provided by DJ Mark Battle from One Sound Entertainment. It is always nice to see guests having a great time on the dance floor, as this is a highlight of the night. The dancing, fun, and excitement also makes for good photography opportunities. As the night came to a close, Krystal and Jamini had a formal exit directly outside the venue with sparklers. We look forward to photographing these two for their one-year anniversary, and it was truly a pleasure to work with this special couple on their wedding day.

We met in college. We both joined Alpha Kappa Psi professional business fraternity. Our chapters were very close and we met at an event.
